ACL Services Tops Audit Software Survey

AuditNet survey confirms ACL is the preferred technology of internal audit

Vancouver, Canada – April 21, 2011 - ACL Services Ltd., the leading provider of business assurance technology for audit and compliance professionals, was found to be the solution of choice among internal auditors who use data analysis software.

The recently published AuditNet® Survey Report on Data Analysis Software and Auditors revealed that 63 percent of surveyed internal auditors utilizing data analysis software use ACL, more than twice any other software. These findings align with the most recent software survey from The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in 2009, which revealed that ACL audit analytics were the most commonly used for data extraction, data analysis, fraud detection and investigation, and continuous audit.

"For more than 24 years, ACL has worked with thousands of internal audit organizations, so we understand the challenges these departments face," said Harald Will, president and CEO of ACL Services. "ACL solutions help them step into a more strategic role while still executing on the audit plan, providing greater overall insight into the business and better assurance that controls are working as intended."

Adoption of purpose-built audit technology, such as CAATS and continuous auditing is on the rise, as the internal audit function evolves to fit a new, more strategic and consultative role within the organization. The IIA 2010 Global Internal Audit Survey Reports, released in March 2011, listed "Step up your use of audit technology and tools" as one of 10 imperatives "for the internal auditing activity to meet organizations' fast changing needs and stakeholder expectations to strategically position the profession for the long term."

To help internal audit groups chart their path forward with audit technology, ACL released the Audit Analytic Capability Model, which outlines the five levels of audit analytics use throughout an organization. The Model helps internal audit groups understand the elements, in terms of people, process and technology that contribute to success and increasing benefits at each level.

AHC Completes 2nd Client Satisfaction Survey for Revenue Body

Survey shows improved performance, but more to be done to meet higher service expectations through the new E-Tax System

Kampala, Uganda, April 2010 – AH Consulting (AHC) today announced the completion of the 2nd Client Satisfaction Survey of Uganda Revenue Authority following the dissemination of the results by the revenue body. The survey which has become a hallmark of the tax agency’s assessment of its interventions in improving service delivery was being conducted for a second time after 4 years, the earlier survey having equally been undertaken by AH Consulting.

Speaking after the press conference called by URA to release the results of the survey, Mr. Paul Kyeyune the Corporate Affairs Manager at URA was pleased with the results of the survey, but noted that further work is required to improve client satisfaction. “This survey shows improvement in perception from 59.19 % 4 years ago to 68.03 % today, and improvement in satisfaction from 38.29 % 4 years ago to 66.90% today. We are satisfied with the results. We acknowledge further improvements are required in stablising the e-tax system and following the acquisition of more servers and other equipment, improvements are expected in client service satisfaction”. On the partnership with AHC, Mr. Kyeyune had this to say - “We partnered with AH Consulting to deliver this 2nd client satisfaction survey and we are satisfied with the quality, coverage and results of the survey”.

The survey which was conducted countrywide covered all the revenue districts of Uganda, sampling 970 tax payers in the satisfaction category and 1,420 presumptive tax payers in the perception category. The survey for the first time covered internal customers sampling URA staff from all departments as part of the assessment. “The methodology, the sample selection, the synthesis especially the attribution process of the intervention by URA in improving service delivery were critically chosen to determine overall satisfaction and perception”  said Mr. Cuthbert Kagabo, the Chief Executive Officer of AH Consulting. The survey identified challenges and improvements which clients expect of the Uganda Revenue Authority, indicating that further improvements are expected in service delivery.

Satisfaction survey’s of the type undertaken by Uganda Revenue Authority continue to be an instrument of assessing service delivery by public institutions determined to achieve continuous improvements in service quality across different processes and service offerings. Measuring performance enables an organization to determine the results of the service intervention efforts, and identifies corrective measures to address client concerns that are essential to achieve the desired service outcomes.

NSIA Selects Agresso from UNIT4 for Group Operations

Integration and low total cost of ownership a key factor for the decision by NSIA

Kampala, Uganda 28th February 2011 – AH Consulting (AHC), today announced a major landmark deal with NSIA Groupe in Ivory Coast for the implementation of Agresso Business World ERP software from UNIT4 to replace a number of standalone accounting systems across the different group companies.  Agresso’s inherent agility and flexibility will enable NSIA to manage business change in the future. At the end of the implementation, all NSIA Groupe companies will be integrated through a single application hub at its headquarters in Abidjan.  “We chose Agresso because we wanted a more immediate global view of group operations.
